Each poker hand begins by contributing some amount to the pot as token money. Either it could be done in the form of an ante or one or more blind bets. If it is an ante, every player contributes a certain percentage of the initial bet as the pot amount. In case of blinds, one or two players will make the bet before cards are distributed. Blinds get rotated letting each player add to the bet.
As the game continues, players can either bet or raise after the cards are dealt in each round. If no one calls your last bet, then you win. But, if one or more players call, then the player with the best hand gets to win the pot.
